Deleting your account

What is removed, what cannot be recovered, and the alternative for guests.

What deletion removes

Deleting the account removes the account and everything in it: recipes, ingredients, plans, orders, clients, products, saved cakes, photos and settings. There is no archive to ask for afterwards and no way back in. A year of priced recipes goes as easily as a week.

  • Every recipe, ingredient and plan
  • Every order, client and product
  • Saved cakes, photos and settings

Deleting from the app

Open the side menu, tap “Edit account” beside your name, and “Delete account” is at the bottom. The app asks you to confirm, then to prove it is you. A recent sign-in is required, so you enter your password or sign in again with Apple or Google. Back out there and nothing has happened. The welcome screen appears once it is done.

  • Side menu, “Edit account”, “Delete account”
  • A confirmation, then a recent sign-in
  • Password, Apple or Google to confirm

Deleting by email

If you can no longer open the app, write to [email protected] with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”. Write from the address the account was created with. The account and its data are removed within fourteen days. The same steps are on cookara.app under Delete account. A guest has no address to write from and deletes from the side menu instead.

  • Subject line “Account Deletion Request”
  • From the account’s own address
  • Removed within fourteen days
  • Guests delete from the side menu

The subscription is separate

Deleting the account does not cancel Pro. The App Store or Google Play keeps the subscription and keeps charging for it, because the store never learns the account is gone. Cancel it first, from “Manage subscription” in the side menu or in the store, and let the paid period run out before you delete.

  • Cancel in the store or Manage subscription
  • Deletion never stops the billing
  • Pro cannot move to a new account

Not in the app

Three things deletion does not offer:

  • Recover a deleted account
  • Delete one module and keep the rest
  • Download everything as one archive

Common questions

Can I delete my account as a guest?

Yes. A guest sees “Delete account” in the side menu where others see “Log Out”. There is no email step, because a guest has no address. Everything on the phone goes with it.

Does deleting the account cancel my subscription?

No. The store subscription runs until you cancel it there or in “Manage subscription”.
